Tandem Bike
A tandem bike may also be known as a twin bicycle. These are designed to be ridden by more than one person. However, it is not simply a bike for multi-person. There are other aspects to it which gives it its name.
Specifically, a tandem bike has the seating arrangement of one person behind the other. It can have two riders, three riders, four riders, and even ten. Generally they are designed for two. Their existence dates back to the late 1800s.
In contrast to the tandem bike is the sociable. As was previously stated, the tandem has riders seated fore to aft. The sociable, on the other hand, will have riders seated side by side. It was invented by Hubert Opperman. Not surprisingly, its style was meant for courting. That way a gentleman and a lady would be able to spend time out closer together.
